May 20-24, the 2nd Symposium on Fluid-Structure-Sound Interactions and Control (FSSIC) jointly organized by the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, China Aerodynamics Research and Development Center and Harbin Industrial University was held in Hong Kong and Macau. Doctoral student Si Qiaorui and master candidate Heng Yaguang from the Fluid Center were invited to attend the conference and read their papers. The 2 students made a speech about the causes, significance, forecasting methods, experimental measurement, optimization, etc. of flow-induced noise of centrifugal pump on the application of flow-induced vibration and noise meeting. They also visited the wind hole and water tunnel laboratory of Hong Kong Polytechnic University. At the same time, through the conference they got a general idea of the most popular research direction and research progress of international peers and did some exploration on construction and development of the disciplines of the center’s related research direction.
