On May 31, Yuan Shouqi, Secretary of the Party committee of Jiangsu University, Yan Xiaohong, President of Jiangsu University went to Wenling, Zhejiang Province for investigation and survey. Xu Renbiao, member of the Standing Committee of Taizhou Municipal Party Committee and Secretary of Wenling Municipal Party Committee, Lin Qiang, mayor of Wenling, and other leaders received and served our research team.

At the colloquium, Xu Renbiao welcomed the team of our school leaders and fully affirmed the achievements with regards to  innovation and cooperation between the two sides over the past years. He emphasised that innovation drives development whereas talents lead the future. He however wished that the two sides would take Wenling Research Institute of Jiangsu University as a bond to further deepen and strengthen the collaborative innovation of industry-university-research cooperation, enhance talent exchange and training, and constantly deepen strategic cooperation between colleges and enterprises with strength and wisdom. Xu Renbiao was quick to add that Wenling Municipal Party Committee and Government would spare no effort to provide the best service and conducive environment for the cooperation between the two sides.

Yuan Shouqi congratulated the two sides on their early cooperation achievements. In his speech, he emphasised that Wenling Municipal Party Committee and Government attached great importance to the development of substantial economy, industrial transformation and upgrading through the cooperation of government-industry-university-research, and enhanced the confidence of Jiangsu University in deepening the innovation cooperation with Wenling. He added that the two sides should seize the opportunity of the Yangtze River Delta integration development, promote the connotation construction of Wenling Research Institute of Jiangsu University, carry out in-depth cooperation between industry, university and research, strengthen high-end talent training and vocational education, and lastly contribute to the construction of‘global high-quality pump and motor industry cluster’ of Wenling. This is intended to achieve a win-win situation between the discipline construction of Jiangsu University, industrial transformation and upgrading of Wenling.

The two sides engaged in an extensive deliberations on the construction of Wenling Research Institute of Jiangsu University, in-depth industrial-university-research cooperation, talent cultivation and training, and the integrated development of the Yangtze River Delta.

Guo Jianlu, deputy director of Strategic Planning Department of Jiangsu Industrial Technology Research Institute, introduced the system and mechanism of scientific and technological innovation reform in Jiangsu Province and the blueprint for the construction of national technological innovation center in the Yangtze River Delta. Guo Jianlu opined that the National Pump and System Engineering Technology Research Center of Jiangsu University has profound discipline background, which has made outstanding contributions to the development of pump industry in Yangtze River Delta. He hopes to deepen the reform of system and mechanism based on Wenling Research Institute of Jiangsu University, and realize the deep integration of innovation chain and industrial chain.

The research group also paid a courtesy visit to Wenling Technology Entrepreneurship Service Center, Pump Innovation Service Complex and twolisted company: Leo Group and SHIMGE.

Li Hong, executive vice president of Graduate School of Jiangsu University, Ren Xudong, director of science and Technology Department, Zhang Desheng, Party Secretary of fluid center, Zhang Jinfeng, Pei Ji, Peng Guangjie, deputy directors, and other relevant staff of Jiangsu Industrial Technology Research Institute participated in the investigation and survey.
