Curriculum Vitae

Ruijie Zhao, Ph.D. in Engineering, Professor, Doctoral Supervisor, mainly engaged in the research of fluid, thermal, and electromagnetic multi-physical coupling simulation, as well as the design and optimization of advanced fluid machinery. He received his Ph.D. in mechanical engineering from the Laval University in Canada in 2015, and was hired as an overseas talent by the Jiangsu University. Currently, his research interests focus on the fundamental research and design of the advanced pumping products, such as electromagnetic pumps for liquid metal in nuclear reactor, multi-phase flow pumps, high-speed cooling pumps for aviation, and high-speed magnetic levitation pumps. He has been in charge of 7 national and provincial level projects including the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC),National Natural Science Foundation of China Youth Fund, Key Research and Development Program of Jiangsu Province, and Aviation Science Foundation, etc. He received the full scholarship of Rio Tinto Alcan Group for graduate students in 2013 (one person per year in the Laval University). He has published over 40 papers in well-known journals in the fields of fluid and energy, such as Physics of Fluids, International Journal of Multiphase flow, Energy, ASME Journal of Fluids Engineering, Journal of Hydraulic Research, International Journal of Thermal Science, Applied Thermal Engineering, Journal of Energy Storage. He has obtained 9 granted patents and 1 PCT patent (U.S.A.). He has given 10 presentations in international and domestic conferences including ASME, TMS, and Asian Conference on Fluid Machinery, and 2 times as session chair. He also received the Young Excellent Paper Award at the 11th National Fluid Mechanics Conference. His research achievements have been recognized with 5 awards from provincial, ministerial, and industrial associations.
