1. Dynamic Engineering and Engineering Thermophysics
Dynamic Engineering and Engineering Thermophysics mainly includes two directions.
First, it does research on fluid machinery (pumps), mechanical characteristics of chemical processes and modern design methods. This direction focuses on the research of basic theory, and further improves and optimizes design theories and methods of non-clogging pumps, non-overload pumps, and unprssurized pumps, and expands their types and application fields. First, improve and promote the computer-aided hydraulic design CAD software and optimization selection software of existing pumps. Second, actively develop other pumps with new structures and new principles. Third, vigorously carry out research on pumps for special fields, such as magnetic pumps and high-speed pumps, etc. Fourth, actively carry out research on water treatment machinery and equipment to meet the urgent needs of national economic development.
Second, it does research on unstable flow characteristics in fluid machinery and modern testing technology. In this direction, numerical calculations of transient flow are carried out by comparing different temporal and spatial discrete precisions, turbulence models, and multiphase flow models, etc. And research on the formation mechanism of no-steady flow phenomena in fluid machinery are carried out, such as vortex, secondary flow, stall, etc. At the same time, it establishes an accurate physical model experimental method for identifying internal flow of fluid machinery, and carries out a theoretical study on the optimal design of fluid machinery under full condition based on a three-dimensional viscous flow analysis.
2. Hydraulic Engineering
Hydraulic Engineering mainly does research on new water-saving and energy-saving irrigation technology and equipment. This direction is mainly engaged in the research and development of new water-saving irrigation technology, water supply technology, transportation technology, control technology and equipment, with combination of the research on National Key R&D Plan and National Agricultural Scientific and Technological Achievements Transformation Fund Project.
3. Dynamic Engineering
Dynamic Engineering mainly includes two directions.
First, it does research on hydraulic nodel and characteristics of pumps and devices for large hydraulic engineering. This direction leads domestic research on the hydraulic model of pumps for large hydraulic engineering. It is mainly engaged in the research on hydraulic model of super-low head and high specific speed axial flow pumps, improvement of series mixed (diagonal) flow pumps hydraulic model research, flow field calculation and optimization design of pump and inlet and outlet channels, research on vibration characteristics of large pumping stations, research on dynamic characteristics of pump cavitation wear, etc., which continue to contribute to China's water conservancy construction.
Second, it does research on key technologies of pump system safety and stability and energy-saving operation. The pump system is an important area for national energy saving and emission reduction. This direction aims at the characteristics of pump systems in different application fields, and conducts in-depth research on real-time dynamic operation optimization, optimal running condition monitoring, online fault diagnosis, and system technological process of pump system from the perspectives of operation reliability and high efficiency energy saving.
4.Biomedical Science
Biomedical Science mainly does research in the field of biomedical engineering (including artificial heart pumps, heart valves, etc.). This direction proposes the theory of mitral annulus dilatation mechanical imbalance in the world for the first time. It also proposes and invents a closed-plate medical device for the treatment of ischemic mitral regurgitation. It also systematically evaluates the effects and functions of mitral valve edge-to-edge suture (double-hole repair) surgical technique using fluid and solid tissue mechanics.

No3. Pump Design and Test Technical Training Classes
The fluid machinery and engineering subject of the Research Center of Fluid Machinery Engineering and Technology of Jiangsu University is the only national key discipline in the water pump industry. It has the right to confer doctor's degree and master's degree, and has a postdoctoral research station. The center is the national pump technology training center designated by the machinery industry, and is also one of the main bases for quality supervision and inspection of pump products in China.
The center held pump design and test technical training classes, has so far trained around four thousand students. The training classes have accumulated amounts of successful experience.
