The 60th Anniversary Innovation and Development Conference of Research Center of Fluid Machinery Engineering and Technology of Jiangsu University was hold successfully on Oct. 29th. Representatives from domestic and foreign cooperative universities, industry associations, local governments, leading pump enterprises and other walks of life participated in the conference online and offline to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the Fluid Center and create a new chapter of development in the future.
Academicians of the CAS Member Xu Jianzhong; Academicians of the CAS Member Wang Hao, Kang Shaozhong, Chen Xuegeng; Academicians of French Academy of Sciences Gerard Bois; President of Northwest A&F University Wu Pute; President of Henan University Xu Hui; President of Nantong University Shi Weidong; Vice President of Xi’an Jiaotong University Xi Guang and other experts and scholars, leaders of cooperative universities and enterprises, as well as all school leaders, members of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee, main principals of relevant functional departments and colleges of Jiangsu University, alumni of the Fluid Center, in-service and retired faculty and student representatives attended the conference.

President Yan Xiaohong made a speech that faculty and students of the Fluid Center are always the fresh force and vanguard of high-quality development of the university cause, making new and greater contributions to the establishment of a "double first-class" university.
Jing Mao, deputy director of the Science and Technology Department of Jiangsu Province, made a speech, hoping that teachers and students of the fluid center would continue to adhere to the concept of "serving the national economic construction, pioneering and innovating, gathering global strength, and leading the development of the world pump industry", and unite with the scientific research forces of world-class universities to adhere to the coordination of multiple high-quality resources, strengthen scientific research innovation and engineering practice, and cultivate high-end scientific research talents with an international perspective. At the same time, he asked us to integrate global scientific and technological resources, enhance China's capacity for independent innovation in fluid engineering equipment, improve the quality and level of international scientific and technological cooperation, and further enhance the international influence of fluid machinery and engineering disciplines of Jiangsu University.
Xu Jianzhong, academicians of the CAS Member, delivered a speech, saying that the fluid center has developed into a "cornucopia" of scientific and technological innovation talents in the field of fluid equipment and systems in China, and has delivered a large number of high-end talents to the country and industry, enjoying a high reputation at home and abroad. He hoped that the Institute of Engineering Thermophysics, Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Fluid Center would continue to deepen cooperation and exchanges, work together to write a new chapter in innovation and development.
Wang Hao said in the video that facing the new era and advancing bravely for a new journey. It is hoped that the Fluid Center would strive to meet the goal of gathering first-class teachers, cultivating first-class talents, creating first-class scientific research achievements, providing first-class social services, leading the development of national pump irrigation industry and building an international pump research center.
Chen Xuegeng said in his speech that talents are the key factor of realizing the leading position of China’s fluid machinery in the world. He hoped that we would increase the scientific and technological innovation of fluid machinery, strengthen the weaknesses, promote the progress of fluid machinery engineering in China, and work hard to achieve the great rejuvenation of the Chinese Nation.
Xi Guang said that the Fluid Center of Jiangsu University has built an important scientific research base with obvious characteristics, outstanding advantages and broad development prospects. It has trained generations of outstanding talents in the field of fluid machinery for China. He wished that Jiangsu University, Xi'an Jiaotong University and other fraternal universities would continue to strengthen communication, deepen cooperation consensus and work together.
Representatives of overseas cooperative institutions and universities, industry associations, cooperative enterprises, as well as outstanding alumni and representatives of young teachers and students also delivered speeches at the conference.
Subsequently, Yuan Jianping, Director of the Fluid Center, made a report on “The Development of the Fluid Center for the 60th Anniversary of Founding”.
At the signing stage of university-enterprise cooperation, Yan Xiaohong, on behalf of UJS, respectively signed strategic cooperation agreements with China Academy of Safety Science and Technology and Dongfang Electric Machinery Co., Ltd.
Ren Zezhong, Director of the Alumni Association and External Liaison Office, and Lu Hongzhong, Technical Director of Shanghai Kaiquan Pump (Group) Co., Ltd. signed the "Kaiquan Graduate Scholarship" agreement of Jiangsu University.
At the unveiling ceremony of the scientific research platform, Yan Xiaohong and Li Hong jointly unveiled the Key Laboratory of Water, Fertilizer and Medicine Integration Intelligent Equipment of Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs (jointly built by the Ministry and Jiangsu Province). Yuan Shouqi and Gerard Bois jointly unveiled the Key Laboratory of Fire Fighting and Rescue Technology and Equipment of Ministry of Emergency Management.
Yuan Shouqi ended up summing up the opening ceremony that during the past 60 years, the teachers and students of the Fluid Center actively undertook the national strategy and responded to the needs of the times, writing a magnificent chapter of struggle with leapfrog development.
In the academic report after the opening ceremony, Kang Shaozhong and Gerard Bois made reports respectively, sharing the response to changing environment and intelligent control of agricultural water system, as well as the performance analysis, limitation and alternative design of centrifugal pump under gas-liquid two-phase inflow conditions.
On the afternoon of October 29, the 7th Jinshan International Symposium on Fluid Mechanical Engineering was held, as well as the 40th Anniversary Development Forum of Journal of Drainage and Irrigation Machinery Engineering.
After 30 months of renovation, the new auditorium ushered in the opening moment. On the evening of October 29, the ceremony for the completion and opening of the renovation of the auditorium of Jiangsu University was held. and the old building of auditorium that flowed in the memories of the alumni re-emerged with new appearance.
After the ceremony, an art show for teachers and students was staged in the newly opened auditorium.
