Recently, the project launch and implementation plan review meeting of the key project “R&D and Application Demonstration of Seawater Desalination Technology and Equipment in Typical Areas of River Basins (2022YFC3202900)” under the National Key R&D Program “Comprehensive Management of Water Resources and Water Environment in Key River Basins such as Yangtze River and Yellow River” during the 14th Five-Year Plan period was held in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province. Academician Gao Congjie of Chinese Academy of Engineering, as well as leaders and experts from relevant departments such as Zhejiang Provincial Department of Science and Technology, Second Institute of Oceanography of Ministry of Natural Resources, Tianjin Institute of Seawater Desalination and Comprehensive Utilization of Ministry of Natural Resources, Tsinghua University, Zhejiang University, Tongji University, Tianjin University, Hohai University, Zhejiang Sci-Tech University, Jiangsu University attended the meeting online and offline.
The project is led by Power China Huadong Engineering Co., Ltd., and eight units including Jiangsu University, Tianjin University, Tsinghua University, Hunan Aowei Technology Co., Ltd. participate together. Professor Pei Ji of the Fluid Center of our university takes charge of Sub-project One: Research of Key Technologies for High-pressure Pumps with Wide and High-efficiency Zones and Their Reliability, which is jointly carried out research with Shandong Shuanglun Co., Ltd.
At the meeting, the project team gave a detailed report to the expert group on the overall objectives, research contents, assessment indicators, technical routes, implementation schedule and so on. The experts present discussed the project in depth from various perspectives such as the form of widening the high-efficiency zone of high-pressure pumps, the efficiency guarantee of rotor energy recovery device under variable working conditions, the composite form and surface modification process of heterogeneous structure membranes, and budget management and allocation. They carefully scrutinized the technical and economic indicators of the project, put forward many valuable opinions and suggestions, and agreed that this project has huge research significance, feasible implementation plan, reasonable technical and economic indicators, guaranteed matching funds, and unanimously agreed to pass the project launch.
The total investment of this project is 100 million yuan, of which 10 million yuan is allocated by the state as special funds. The official launch of the project marks our university’s continuous breakthrough in national-level projects in the field of seawater desalination technology, and enhances the ability of the National Research Center of Pumps to serve national strategies.
