September 25-27, a delegation of 9 students and faculties at the Research Center for Fluid Machinery Engineering Technology of Jiangsu University, headed by Yuan Jianping, vice director of the said research center, attended the 12th Asian International Conference on Fluid Machinery (12th AICFM, 2013) held in Yogyakarta, Indonesia. The biannual AICFM was hosted this year by the Fluid Machinery Laboratory of the Faculty of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering Affiliated to the Indonesian Department of Energy and by the Industrial Center of Institut Teknologi Bandung.

More than 80 papers, including 15 from the discipline of fluid machinery and engineering of Jiangsu University, were adopted by the 12th AICFM that comprises 3 parallel sessions. 8 scholars from the Research Center of Fluid Machinery Engineering Technology of Jiangsu University gave at the conference presentations respectively on optimization of bump design, fluid induced noise prediction method and testing, etc. During their stay in Indonesia, the delegates from Jiangsu University visited the Fluid Machinery Laboratory of the Faculty of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering Affiliated to the Indonesian Department of Energy. Through attending the Conference, they acquainted themselves with the hot issues and research progress in fluid machinery and explored the future development of this discipline and its research orientations.
