On September 5, a delegation from the Jiangsu Provincial Energy Administration, including Deputy Director Tang Heyin, Deputy Director of the Oil and Gas Division Liu Hui, Director of the Energy Division of the Zhenjiang Development and Reform Commission Yang Zhengyue, and Level Four Director Gong Xiaoya, visited our university to investigate the construction of the National Energy R&D Innovation Platform. They were accompanied by Vice President of Jiangsu University Li Hong, Director of the Fluid Center Yuan Jianping, Director of the Institute for Energy Research He Zhixia, and Deputy Director of the Science and Technology Department Cai Jie.

The research team conducted on-site inspections, listened to reports, and engaged in in-depth discussions to gain a comprehensive understanding of the construction status of the National Energy R&D Innovation Platform at Jiangsu University. At the laboratory of National Research Center of Pumps, they received briefings on its development history, research conditions, industry status, and influence, as well as updates on new product development and breakthroughs in critical technologies related to nuclear power pumps. They also explored recent advancements in international collaboration. Subsequently, they visited the laboratory of Institute for Energy Research, where both parties engaged in extensive discussions regarding technical challenges, resource integration, and future prospects.

In 2023, the National Energy Administration announced the first batch of "horse racing" national energy R&D innovation platforms for the 14th Five-Year Plan. The "National Energy Advanced Nuclear Pump Technology R&D Center," led by our university, was selected and is set to enter a three-year construction period. This center will deeply implement the new energy security strategy and innovation-driven development strategy, focusing on the national carbon peak and carbon neutrality goals. It will align with the long-term development strategy needs of national nuclear power, prioritizing forward-looking basic research and targeting applied basic research. The center aims to continuously overcome major bottleneck technologies related to the design, manufacturing, and engineering application of nuclear power pumps, providing intellectual and technical support for solving significant common key issues in the nuclear power pump industry. It will establish a base for fundamental theoretical research, technology development, achievement transformation, and engineering application in nuclear power pumps, playing a supportive and leading role in the industry, and contributing to the high-quality development of nuclear power pumps through domestication and independence.
