Recently, the Jiangsu Provincial Development and Reform Commission announced the project list for the 2024 Jiangsu Provincial Engineering Research Centers, with the "Jiangsu Provincial High-end Marine Fluid Equipment Engineering Research Center," led by Zhang Desheng of the Fluid Center, successfully approved.
Marine engineering equipment is a crucial component of the modern marine industrial system and serves as a vital support for the development, utilization, protection, and management of marine resources. In recent years, the marine engineering equipment industry in Jiangsu Province has developed rapidly, forming a comprehensive upstream and downstream industrial system. The Jiangsu Provincial High-end Marine Fluid Equipment Engineering Research Center will focus on emerging sectors such as deep-sea resource extraction, ship propulsion, offshore wind power, and seawater desalination, engaging in deep industry-university-research collaboration and synergistic innovation with key marine equipment enterprises. The center aims to conduct interdisciplinary research at the intersection of fluid machinery and marine engineering, enhance research and development capabilities for marine fluid engineering equipment, and promote the development of the high-end marine fluid equipment industry in Jiangsu Province and throughout the country.
