On November 7, a delegation from the Beijing Research Institute of Automation for Machinery Industry Co., Ltd. (referred to as "BRIAMI"), under the China Academy of Machinery Science and Technology Group Co., Ltd., visited the Fluid Center of Jiangsu University. The delegation included Feng Junxue, Deputy General Manager of BRIAMI (Beijing) Testing Technology Development Co., Ltd., and Gu Xiaoyang, Deputy General Manager of Jiangsu Yangtze Intelligent Manufacturing Research Institute Co., Ltd. Representing Jiangsu University, the participants included Yuan Jianping, Director of the Fluid Center; Peng Guangjie, Deputy Director of the Fluid Center; Qiu Guangyu, Director of the Changzhou Engineering and Technology Research Institute of Jiangsu University; Lang Tao, Laboratory Director of the Fluid Center; and Zhu Yong, Secretary of the Party Branch for Industry Services and Technology Transfer at the Fluid Center.
Yuan Jianping extended a warm welcome to the delegation and expressed gratitude for BRIAMI’s long-standing support for the development of Jiangsu University. Yuan provided an overview of the university and the Fluid Center, highlighting its historical milestones, research directions, and significant achievements, particularly in the fields of water conservancy, defense, water treatment, and energy. He emphasized the Center’s recent progress and breakthroughs in these areas and expressed hope that the exchange would foster comprehensive collaboration with BRIAMI, driving advancements in the development and application of fluid engineering equipment.
Feng Junxue expressed appreciation for Jiangsu University’s hospitality and introduced the fundamental operations, development history, and notable achievements of BRIAMI and BRIAMI (Beijing) Testing Technology Development Co., Ltd. He analyzed the technical requirements for fluid transmission and intelligent control in China’s ongoing industrial transformation toward intelligent systems. Feng praised Jiangsu University’s achievements in fluid machinery research and expressed his hope for leveraging the strengths of both institutions in technology and research expertise to enhance collaborative efforts, particularly in addressing critical “bottleneck” technologies and joint project development.
Gu Xiaoyang reflected on the historical connections and prior collaborations between the two institutions, noting their shared origins under the Ministry of Machinery Industry of the People's Republic of China. He expressed hope that the exchange event would deepen cooperation in advanced manufacturing and industrial intelligence, jointly promoting the development of the “National Engineering Research Center for Manufacturing Automation.”
Following the discussions, the delegation visited the laboratories of the National Research Center of Pumps at Jiangsu University.
This visit by the BRIAMI leadership and experts represented both high-level academic exchange and the solidification of a foundation for deeper collaboration. Through direct communication and discussion, the two sides reached consensus on various aspects, including industry development, talent cultivation, integration of education and production, and industry-academia-research cooperation. Both parties committed to adopting a comprehensive perspective on education, science, and technology in the new era, leveraging their respective strengths to enhance organized scientific research, tackle critical “bottleneck” technologies, and actively promote regional integration and development.
The collaboration aims to support the construction of platforms such as the Jiangsu University Sub-Center of the National Engineering Research Center for Manufacturing Automation, the Digital Hydraulic Components and Systems Testing Sub-Center of the National Engineering Research Center for Manufacturing Automation, and the Beijing Innovation Center for Intelligent Testing Equipment, thereby jointly advancing technology-driven innovation for high-quality development.
