On February 24, the third-phase construction conference of the provincial dominant discipline-Power Engineering and Engineering Thermal Physics, led by Research Center of Fluid Machinery Engineering and Technology, was successfully held in the first lecture hall of the Conference Center, which School of Energy and Power Engineering, School of Automotive and Traffic Engineering and Institute for Energy Research also participated in.
Yuan Jianping, director of Research Center of Fluid Machinery Engineering and Technology, first emphasized the necessity and importance of the convening of this discipline conference. And he briefly explained the reform and changes in the management of the three-phase project of the dominant discipline. At the conference, Li Wei, deputy director of Research Center of Fluid Machinery Engineering and Technology, introduced in detail the management methods and explanations of Jiangsu University's special budget for the third-phase of the provincial superiority project. He also analyzed the specific measures and precautions for the project management and project funding declaration, and gave specific project case introductions in conjunction with the key tasks of the third-phase task.
Finally, the academic leader Yuan Shouqi made an important speech. He pointed out that the current discipline construction is facing a severe situation. It is necessary to fully carry forward the hard work spirit of the older generation and strive for the discipline of Power Engineering and Engineering Thermal Physics to enter the ranks of first-class disciplines as soon as possible. At the same time, Prof. Yuan Shouqi combined with the construction of the dominant discipline and put forward five expectations. First, improve the ideological understanding, take responsibility and act, and conscientiously implement the spirit of the fourth party congress of Jiangsu University. Second, young teachers should aim at the first-class discipline construction goals. We must strive for internal strength and major breakthroughs within five to ten years. Third, we must fully recognize the importance of discipline construction, which can lead to faster and better development of all undertakings. Fourth, we must adapt to the current situation of reduced funding for dominant disciplines. Fifth, we should strengthen the top-level design of exchanges and disciplines of various colleges, promote the development of interdisciplinary research, do a good job in scientific research platform and team building, and strive for greater achievements and make greater contributions around the goal of building first-class disciplines.
