The First Session of the Second Management Committee Meeting of the "National Energy Advanced Nuclear Power Pump Technology Research and Development Center" Held

On April 16, the First Session of the Second Management Committee Meeting of the "National Energy Advanced Nuclear Power Pump Technology Research and Development Center" was convened at Jiangsu University. Attendees included Lu Xianshuai, Director of the New Energy Division of the Jiangsu Provincial Development and Reform Commission; Fei Zhisong, Chief Engineer of CNNC Nuclear Power Operation and Management Co., Ltd.; Fu Wei, Deputy General Manager and Chief Engineer of Shenyang Blower Group Nuclear Pump Industry Co., Ltd.; Zhang Rongyong, Director of the Cold Source Center at China Nuclear Power Engineering Co., Ltd.; Huang Xiubo, Design Department Director of Harbin Electric Power Equipment Co., Ltd.; Yao Xueliang, Chief Engineer of Shanghai Apollo Machinery Co., Ltd.; Li Hong, Member of the University Party Standing Committee and Vice President of Jiangsu University; Yuan Shouqi, Director of the National Research Center of Pumps; Yuan Jianping, Director of the Fluid Center; Xu Wanzhen, Deputy Director of the Office of Scientific Research; Gao Bo, Vice Dean of the College of Energy and Power Engineering, along with other relevant faculty members.

During the meeting, the committee reviewed the mid-term achievements of the center’s construction, including developments in hydraulic model design for main nuclear pumps, collaborative optimization design platforms for main nuclear pumps, intelligent diagnostics and operation platforms for nuclear power pumps, high-temperature and high-pressure pump thermal shock test benches, enhancement of seawater circulation pump efficiency in nuclear power plants, hydraulic model development for wet-winding pumps used in heating reactors, and the application of related products. Experts provided feedback from the mid-term evaluation, summarized existing shortcomings and deficiencies, and proposed key tasks and implementation plans for subsequent construction phases. Representatives from various participating units introduced their respective technical needs, research progress, and future plans in the field of nuclear power pumps.

Li Hong emphasized that all construction units must leverage their strengths, actively fulfill their assigned tasks, and work collaboratively to advance the development of nuclear power pump technology in China while accelerating the construction of the research and development center. Lu Xianshuai highlighted the importance of adhering to the concept of "from engineering back to engineering," focusing on addressing practical engineering challenges, enhancing collaborative efforts, and ensuring the center’s research outcomes are applied to real-world engineering projects. Yuan Shouqi noted that the center’s inclusion in the competitive track represents a valuable opportunity. He urged all co-construction units to take this responsibility seriously, clarify objectives, refine tasks, and strengthen coordination among the consortium, working groups, and the management committee. He called on all parties to work together to advance the development of the national energy platform and foster the growth of the nuclear power industry.
