On June 18, the fifth committee meeting of the CNNC-Jiangsu University "Nuclear Power Pump and Device Intelligent Diagnosis and Operation Joint Laboratory" was held in Zhenjiang, Jiangsu. Attendees included Xing Ji, Chief Expert of CNNC; Du Shuhong, Deputy Chief Engineer of CNNC Engineering; Liu Liping, Director of the Science and Technology Department; Song Jianjun, Deputy Director of the Beijing Nuclear Engineering Research and Design Institute; Bai Wei, Director of the Public Systems Department; Qu Changming, Deputy Director of the Systems and Layout Department; Zhang Rongyong, Director of the Cold Source Center; Xing Weihong, President of Jiangsu University; Li Hong, Vice President; Yuan Shouqi, Director of the National Research Center of Pumps; Director Yuan Jianping and relevant department leaders and faculty members of Research Center of Fluid Machinery Engineering and Technology. The meeting was chaired by Vice President Li Hong.

Xing Weihong delivered a welcome speech on behalf of the university, expressing gratitude to the CNNC Engineering leaders and experts for their long-term support of Jiangsu University. She introduced the university's development achievements and the accomplishments of the Fluid Center in high-end fluid equipment such as nuclear power pumps. She emphasized that the Joint Laboratory for Intelligent Diagnosis and Operation of Nuclear Power Pumps and Devices has made significant progress in key technology research, engineering applications, industrial development, and the cultivation of high-quality professional talents. She hoped the joint laboratory would further deepen industry-university-research cooperation, accelerate breakthroughs in critical technologies in the field of nuclear power pumps and devices, and make new and greater contributions to China's high-level technological self-reliance and socio-economic development.

Xing Ji provided a brief overview of the current state of international and domestic nuclear power development and the need for technological innovation in nuclear power equipment. He noted that CNNC Engineering, as a demonstration unit for scientific reform, continuously promotes the advancement of the "Hualong" series technologies. He highlighted the crucial role of nuclear power pumps in the functionality and safety assurance of nuclear power plants' circuits, stating that new technological innovations present fresh challenges to the design concepts and standards of traditional equipment like nuclear power pumps. Intelligent pump technologies are essential for enhancing the safety and economy of nuclear power, and he expressed his hope for Jiangsu University to play a more significant role in this field.

Yuan Shouqi thanked CNNC Engineering for its strong support in establishing the joint laboratory. Over the past four years, the laboratory has achieved substantial results in intelligent operation and maintenance and fault diagnosis of nuclear power pumps through problem-oriented and deeply collaborative efforts. The advanced hydraulic model of the "Hualong One" axial-flow main pump developed by the laboratory has been certified, and the laboratory has undertaken and participated in the construction of three national and industry platforms. The laboratory continuously leverages the advantages of universities, exploring new paths for deep industry-university-research collaboration between universities and leading enterprises in theoretical innovation and technology development. He expressed the expectation for the joint laboratory to promptly summarize and accelerate the application and verification of new technologies and results.

The committee carefully listened to reports from Zhang Rongyong and Fu Qiang from Jiangsu University on the summary and review, technological breakthroughs, representative achievements, and development plans of the joint laboratory. The committee acknowledged the laboratory's achievements, approved the technology roadmap oriented towards engineering needs, and endorsed three projects for 2024. They provided valuable suggestions, emphasizing that the laboratory's research should effectively serve the needs of engineering implementation.
