On March 20, the Party Committee of the Fluid Center held a special report meeting in the seventh-floor conference room to study, communicate and implement the spirit of the 2026 National Two Sessions. Professor Shi Weidong, a member of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference and Vice Chairman of the Jiangsu Provincial Committee of the Nine-Three Society, was invited to deliver a special guidance report.

The meeting was presided over by Zhang Desheng, Secretary of the Party Committee of the Fluid Center. Representatives of faculty members and students from the center attended the study session.

At the meeting, Shi Weidong conveyed the spirit of the 2026 National Two Sessions from several perspectives, including the basic information of the Fourth Session of the 14th National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, the main spirit of the meeting, the major achievements and consensus reached through members’ deliberations and proposals, the grand occasion of the Fourth Session of the 14th National People’s Congress, and his personal performance of duties as a CPPCC member.

He particularly reviewed the spirit of the important speeches delivered by General Secretary Xi Jinping during the Two Sessions, helping faculty members and students gain a more comprehensive and deeper understanding of the spirit of the national meetings.

In his remarks while presiding over the meeting, Zhang Desheng emphasized that General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important speeches during the National Two Sessions were profound, strategically significant and rich in content, charting the course and providing fundamental guidance for work at present and in the coming period.

Zhang called on all faculty members and students to thoroughly study and understand the spirit of the National Two Sessions. He urged them to approach their work with greater enthusiasm and more pragmatic measures, make every effort to ensure the implementation of all tasks, and demonstrate new responsibility and achieve new progress during the 15th Five-Year Plan period.

During the Two Sessions, Shi Weidong actively participated in political consultation and performed his duties conscientiously. He prepared proposals and public opinion submissions focusing on areas such as artificial intelligence, the development of a modern industrial system, talent cultivation and urbanization.

His work as a CPPCC member and related views received wide media coverage, with more than 130 reports published or broadcast by media outlets at various levels, including the CCTV News app, Guangming Daily, China Daily website and People’s Political Consultative Daily.
